This is decidedly eerie, particularly the face down in what appears to be water at the bottom. Is it a clever mirror-imaging arranged multiple times? I feel there is a story behind this image.

Yes, it is multiple mirror imaging (x4 + reflection). The face in the water at the bottom is buddha from our garden. This collage is quite large (75cm x 50cm) and the detail is missed in this smaller version.

It started out as a photograph of a sandstone cliff near our home (Sydney, Australia). The water is from a nearby lagoon on a windless morning. The sky is from a clouded sunrise over the ocean. Nature does it best…
